Research Poster
Graduate School • September 2012
The first step of a Critical and Creative Thinking project for our Fall 2012 Studio course involved researching a specific undergraduate curricular, or co-curricular, activity and an associated cognitive behavior. For me, this was a student reporter at The Technician (the student-newspaper at North Carolina State University) and the critical listening skills needed to interview sources for information.
This poster was created to demonstrate the model of listening comprehension as a critical skill, as well as the stages of preparation that a reporter must complete in order to effectively conduct an interview. By framing this project around a single, researchable statement, the resulting prototype designs were able to remain relevant and focused on the crucial issues of reporting.
This 42″ x 84″ poster was part of an exhibit for the SEGD symposium in October of 2012 on NC State’s campus.
